Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is a big concern in our country (USA) and can lead to alcohol abuse from a very young age. According to the 2021 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 29.5 million people ages 12 and older had AUD in the past year. In the 12 to 17 age group alone, 3.4% had AUD in the past year – looking at this by the individual, this means that 894,000 of our 12 to 17-year-old youths had AUD.
